This is important.
We’re launching our first-ever survey of mom entrepreneurs and we want you to be a part of it.
Why?
The media constantly asks us for intel. Brands don’t take women owned business seriously yet. Corporations want to know more about women owned business. And we want to tell them more. I’ve done countless interviews on TV, blogs, podcasts, and radio where I’m asked, “So what makes mom entrepreneurs different from other entrepreneurs?” Or, “Why bother focusing on women in business who happen to have children?” Or, my favorite: “Why do you even mention the word “mom” when you’re talking about business or women owned business?”
We are misunderstood. We are written off. We are a marketing cliche. We are doubted. And my hunch is that the large majority of us are made to feel less than.
But here’s the thing: We are savvy. We are sophisticated. We are smart. We are doing twice as much as entrepreneurs who have no children. And even we, the women who are building businesses and raising families at the same time, often downplay the importance of the doing of it all. It is very important. It is vital, in fact. We are able to put food on the table for our families. We are contributing to our local economies. And for those of us who are doing it without partners — husbands, wives, boyfriends or girlfriends — we carry a burden that few others can understand.
In an effort to collect data where there is little to none, it is our time to do so. We’d like to find 1,000 respondents who will contribute their answers to three interesting questions. Once we have a basic understanding from this survey, we will be able to push forward and ask the tougher questions to fill in all of the blanks about who we are as a population. Not only will it be interesting to report the findings to folks who are not mom entrepreneurs, but we would like to understand one another, too.
Would you mind participating in something that could shape our future? IT’S JUST 3 QUESTIONS. Really. That’s it. Participate here!
Know a women owned business or a mom entrepreneur? Please forward it to her, too!
