THE AUDIOBOOK HAS LANDED!!!!!

Because who reads anymore?

When Found It: A Field Guide for Mom Entrepreneurs came out in paperback in 2012, I demanded so much of you.  Putting your phone down to pick up a book. Lifting said book up and putting it back down. But NO MORE exhausting yourself having to turn pages.

The 2017 version is updated, expanded, and available on Amazon.com and Audible.com.

The concept for the book came to me after reading business book after business book filled with “go do it this way”‘s and “never do it that way”‘s. I wanted to read something that understood the whole “in moderation” philosophy. I also needed a call to action for those of us trying to a) create something from nothing (a business!), b) figure out how to do it well (good enough is never good enough!), and c)  do it while raising children. At the time, there was no such business book. At least one that hadn’t been written down on paper.

Skip the paper and fast forward to 2017.

I determined that the best way for you to understand that building a better business is not a Herculean task but a reasonable, attainable one was to tell you in my own words and in my own voice. I weave stories of the 3 companies that I’ve built throughout the book. I talk about the horrific lessons I’ve learned, from losing $5,000 on a deal with the Black Crowes (the band) to the insufferable guilt that comes with putting your child into daycare too early. I suggest ways in which you can do this thing, ways that are doable for every mom entrepreneur in the whole wide world.

The first half of the book will guide anyone looking to start or grow her business. It’s filled with tips, tricks, and anecdotes about my journey through my three businesses — one that was product-based, one that was service-based, and one that is member-based. My experiences result in honest, straightforward suggestions for anyone who has ever wanted to make her dream fly. And I propose actionable, practical ways to do it!

The second half of the book is a game-changer. It covers the ways in which any entrepreneur can grow her business with a family in tow. Where most business books never bother to mention that children exist in small business owners’ lives, this book sure does. I weave in stories about building my businesses while raising my two daughters. I suggests to work your kids into your work day, not to work around them. I makes sure that moms everywhere know that achieving a balance of business and family isn’t really the goal to have in mind. It’s the how you do it that matters. And how you do it is what makes for a successful mom entrepreneur.

If you haven’t heard my vocal antics on the Breaking Down Your Business podcast, this is your opportunity to enjoy my energetic, down-to-earth and spirited telling of what entrepreneurship for the mom entrepreneur is really like — and what it can be for you, too.
