How do you feel about sales? If you’re like our expert Annie Warshaw of Mission Propelle, you love them. Or, if you’re like many small biz owners, you find them scary. In our latest course 37, Chase Those Sales, we discuss how sales are actually empowering – and how you can get more of them!
How many people do you know? Probably lots, right? Start to think of how you can use your network strategically. The people you connect with have value. If you think of the ways that they can help you – and you can help them – you’ll start to realize that the sales process can be simplified.
When you go to a networking event, make sure you feel out the vibe of the person you’re talking to. Are they engaged with you? If they’re really interested, make sure you follow up by email (or however they said was best to contact them). If they don’t respond, follow up accordingly. Remember, some people might just be flippant, but others are genuinely busy. They’ll be grateful for your tenacity.
It’s hard to tell where we can cross the line from persistent to annoying. But if you use your emotional intelligence and meet people where they are, it should help. It’s important to listen and read the vibe that people are giving you.
If you keep having to reschedule a meeting, for example, you may have to change your strategy. Some people may not be available for a call, but if you write out actionable steps in an email instead, they may be more receptive to that.
While it’s good to focus on the product, in today’s society, what you look like can be used as a strategy. That said, wear something that makes you feel confident while also being comfortable. You don’t need to go around in heels all the time. Utilize what you’ve got to your selling advantage. Cultivate your own look and own it!
Sales don’t have to be scary. Our expert Annie Warshaw will show you how to chase those sales, land deals, and grow your biz.
Jill knows that you can do it. Annie knows how you can do it.
